On a ride at Tivoli yesterday |
This this is just a quick post to give you faithful readers an idea of the days/posts to come. Somehow over the weekend I have
5 posts I want to write: a description of the tour I received given by a homeless person in Copenhagen, a description of my AMAZING trip to Tivoli with my host family yesterday; two new posts about reasons I love Denmark (including two things I learned about in class yesterday and a few others from new pictures I've taken); and one post about this
beautiful sunny Saturday I am now enjoying. Unfortunately, writing them may take time because I also have two 10-page papers, one 6-page paper, one 5-page paper, and an exam to study for, but I can't seem to make myself sit down at the table and do my work...

Balou is also LOVING the sunshine |
It's Saturday and it's
BEAUTIFUL outside. We've got all the doors and windows open and I've spent the morning jumping outside on the trampoline with Mira, dancing around the house and singing to music while doing chores, playing Just Dance, and now sitting with Lars in the computer area listening to music on YouTube at full volume. Other than in Denmark, I've rarely felt this totally and completely happy, and yet strangely I simultaneously feel like I want to cry. This is my very last Saturday morning with the Hellesens. They are away at the family's summer house next weekend and the following Saturday is my departure date. The fact that I leave so soon really only hit me yesterday, and I am trying very hard to "stay in the moment," but it's getting increasingly difficult. Alas, for now I have to get ready to go (and that's probably a good thing): in just a few minutes, Lars and I will hop on our bikes to go see Kasper play in his soccer game, and tomorrow we have a DIS family picnic to attend! I know these things will be fun, and I hope they will take my mind off the reality of the end of the semester. :/
So, if you are interested, look back over the next few days. I'm excited to share my latest insights and adventures! I am hoping to have two of my 5 posts done tonight and the other three tomorrow. Schoolwork can wait a while: I've decided I can always do my assignments during the workdays since my family members are busy then too. For now, I want to soak up the sunshine and engage in every minute I have to spend with them. :-)
Ah! Must go... time to use my new skill of a 4-minute shower so we can get out the door on time. Vi ses!
