Evan, inside one of the churches |
Today was the first day of class (although I only had 1 of 5 courses). As I said in the earlier post, I got the service learning placement that I had wanted (yay!) and after class, Evan and I met up and went exploring. We walked some of the same route that he and I had done independently during the Copenhagen Great Race and stopped in a few new churches along the way.
Some photos from the afternoon:

The crosses that are glowing are the result of stained glass windows on the other side of the dome. It was really neat |

Tonight, Mira and I had a girls' night full of teaching and learning! Mira taught me to count to 11 in Danish (which may come in useful tomorrow) and I taught her how to make friendship bracelets with the kit I had brought. We had an absolute blast! While we worked, we listened to Katy Perry, Adele, and a Danish band (her fav artists). It was the perfect activity and we really bonded. We didn't really have to rely on GoogleTranslate and still managed to communicate well. I would also like to note that Mira is an excellent Danish teacher; she is patient and knows exactly how to break words down! With her help, I'll be fluent in no time ;)
